Sharjah Masters

The Sharjah Masters International Chess Championship is one of the premier open chess tournaments in the Middle East and one of the strongest open events on the global calendar. Organized by the Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club under the patronage of the Sharjah government, the tournament draws top grandmasters from around the world with its generous prize fund, which has exceeded $100,000 in recent editions. The event is typically a 9-round Swiss-system tournament played at classical time controls, and it regularly features players rated above 2700 FIDE.
