Niki Riga is a chess content creator, photographer, and social media strategist from Athens, Greece. She started in chess as a player and arbiter before discovering her talent behind the camera, eventually expanding into design, video production, and full-scale social media strategy for some of the biggest names in chess.
As Head of Social Media at FIDE from 2023 to 2025, Niki grew the federation's channels by over 85%, adding more than 740,000 followers and generating over 700 million organic impressions. Her work spanned the Champions Chess Tour with chess24, World Chess events, and the Gibraltar Chess Festival, where she served as both photographer and content creator across multiple World Championship cycles.
Niki currently serves as Senior Social Media Manager at Norway Chess, where she was part of the team behind Magnus Carlsen's viral table slam clip. Her approach to chess content centers on innovation, education, and entertainment, and she has been recognized as a featured speaker at FIDE events including the 2025 World Schools Team Championship.
