Chessvision.ai eBooks

make books interactive

Chessvision.ai eBooks is an interactive chess eBook reader that uses computer vision and machine learning to bring chess books to life. Instead of passively reading static diagrams, you double-click any position in a PDF and it opens on a live, interactive board. It launched in January 2020 and won Best Chess Startup at the ChessTech 2020 Conference.

The reader processes your uploaded PDF, EPUB, or DJVU file once, then keeps every diagram instantly accessible for future sessions. From any position, you can run engine analysis with top computer lines, search for the same position in master game databases, find Chessable courses built around it, and jump to YouTube videos that explain the exact position, all without leaving the reader.

It is built for serious chess students who study from physical books but want the tools of a modern analysis platform. You can annotate positions, export key diagrams to PGN, create PDF study sheets, and sync your library across web, iOS, Android, and desktop. A free tier lets you test it on the first dozen diagram-containing pages of any book. Full access is available via a paid subscription, priced around the cost of one chess book per year.
