Disco Chess

All-in-one chess training powered by the Woodpecker Method

Disco Chess is an all-in-one chess training platform built around the Woodpecker Method, the intensive repetition system popularized by GM Axel Smith. The app covers tactics, openings, and positions from your own games, all with automated cycle tracking and performance analytics.

What makes Disco Chess stand out is its implementation of the full Woodpecker workflow: fixed puzzle sets, cycle-based repetition, and speed tracking with no spreadsheets or manual timers needed. Wrong puzzles automatically enter a Mistake Review queue using Anki-style spaced intervals (1, 3, 7, 14, 30 days), so your weaknesses get the most practice.

The opening trainer applies the same repetition logic to repertoire drilling. Watch a GM video lesson to understand the ideas, then drill the critical lines in repeated cycles until they become automatic. Connect your Lichess account and Disco Chess scans your games to find positions where you had a winning tactic but missed it.

The free tier includes all tactical themes, starter puzzle sets of 100 puzzles each, unlimited cycles, performance analytics, and Mistake Review. Premium unlocks larger 1000-puzzle sets. With 170+ curated puzzle sets across 18 tactical themes and 5 difficulty levels, there is plenty of material for players rated anywhere from beginner to expert.
