DecodeChess

DecodeChess is an AI-powered chess analysis platform that goes beyond raw engine evaluations. Instead of showing cryptic number lines, it explains Stockfish's recommended moves in plain, human-readable language, breaking each position down into threats, plans, piece functionality, and strategic concepts.

Powered by Explainable AI (XAI) technology, DecodeChess auto-generates explanations similar to those a chess master would offer. The platform covers five key areas for every position: opponent threats, the best available moves in order, how the top move supports future plans, the function of each piece on the board, and relevant tactical and positional motifs. It supports game imports from Lichess and Chess.com, along with direct uploads.

DecodeChess is designed for improving players with ratings up to approximately 2000 Elo. It supports multiple languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Dutch, Hebrew, Italian, Norwegian, and Russian. The platform also includes an adaptive computer opponent that adjusts to your skill level. DecodeChess has partnered with Chessify to bring text-based move explanations to their analysis platform as well.
