World Chess

World Chess is the official online gaming platform of FIDE, the International Chess Federation, operating under the domain worldchess.com after a 2025 rebrand of the FIDE Online Arena. It is the only online chess platform in the world where players can earn official FIDE-recognized titles and maintain a rating that carries weight with the global governing body of chess.

Registration is free and anyone can begin playing immediately. Players who want an official FIDE Online Arena (FOA) rating and a path to titles like Arena Candidate Master (ACM), Arena FIDE Master (AFM), Arena International Master (AIM), or Arena Grandmaster (AGM) can subscribe to the PRO membership at 50 euros per year.

Beyond rated play, World Chess offers monthly Masterclasses with elite grandmasters for PRO subscribers, an in-platform coaching marketplace, and a growing community of over one million registered users. The platform supports multiple board themes and interfaces suited to both casual players and competitive grinders.

World Chess also serves as the media and events arm of FIDE, covering major tournaments including the World Chess Championship, Candidates, and Grand Swiss through news, live broadcasts, and official commentary.
