The Big Greek

The Big Greek is the chess content brand of International Master Georgios Souleidis, a Greek-born, Germany-based chess player and educator. Since launching their YouTube channel in December 2018, they have built the most successful German-language chess channel on the platform, with over 150,000 subscribers and 50 million views.

The channel gained major traction during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Netflix series "The Queen's Gambit" boom in 2020. Georgios covers basic knowledge, tactics, and grandmaster game analyses in an accessible, entertaining style. They also run a dedicated Shorts channel for daily chess puzzles.

Beyond YouTube, Georgios streams multiple times per week on Twitch, organizing tournaments and commentating on live competitions. They have held the IM title since 1999 and transitioned to full-time chess content creation, leaving all other professional activities behind.
