Noctie is an AI chess training platform built around one core idea: practice against opponents that play like real humans. Trained on over one billion human games, Noctie creates bots that replicate genuine human playing patterns at every level, from beginner to super-GM strength (around 2800 Elo). Instead of facing a traditional engine that plays perfect, inhuman moves, you get opponents that make the same kinds of mistakes, time management choices, and opening preferences that a real player at that rating would.

After every game, Noctie analyzes your play and generates personalized puzzles from your most instructive mistakes. These flashcard-style exercises help you drill the exact positions where you went wrong, turning each loss into a targeted training session. The platform also includes opening training with common human responses, so you can build and test repertoires against realistic opposition rather than engine lines you will never see in a real game.

Noctie offers over 100 structured lessons and daily puzzles to keep your training consistent. You can import your own repertoires and practice them against human-like bots that will actually play the lines you need to prepare for. The platform is available on web, iOS, and Android, with subscription plans starting at around 8 euros per month on the annual plan.

The project has built an active community on Discord and YouTube, where players share feedback and training tips. Noctie positions itself as a complement to traditional chess platforms, focusing specifically on the training and improvement side rather than competitive matchmaking.
