Chrome extension AI coaching layer for Chess.com and Lichess with plain-language move explanations

Chessvia AI is a Chrome extension that adds a real-time AI coaching layer directly onto Chess.com and Lichess analysis boards. Instead of leaving you to interpret engine evaluation bars, it explains moves in plain language: what the best move is, why it works, and what idea you should be playing toward. No tab-switching, no separate app to open.

The coaching interface is built around a "What to do / What to avoid / Key idea" breakdown for any position. You can also ask free-form questions about the position directly in the extension, or tap quick question chips for instant analysis. Stockfish 17 runs locally in your browser for fast, private evaluation. The AI coach, named Chessy, supports voice input for hands-free sessions alongside standard text interaction.

Chessvia launched in 2025 and has grown a following across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Discord. The extension is currently free to use with no sign-in required. A premium tier starts at $6.99 per month for expanded features. It works on both Chess.com and Lichess analysis boards, covers opening, middlegame, and endgame contexts, and supports both dark and light mode.
