Chess Max Academy is one of New York City"s premier chess schools, founded and led by Grandmaster Maxim Dlugy. A former World Junior Champion (1985) and once ranked number one in the world in blitz chess, Dlugy brings decades of elite playing and coaching experience to every aspect of the academy.
The academy operates from three locations: the Upper West Side and Upper East Side of Manhattan, plus Greenwich, Connecticut. It also offers a full online program via Zoom. Chess Max serves students of all ages and levels, from beginner children to competitive adults. Its curriculum spans group classes, private tutoring (starting at $250/hour with GM Dlugy), summer camps, tournament preparation workshops, and a dedicated chess app for practice.
Chess Max Academy has built an impressive competitive track record. Students have won more than 25 National Scholastic titles, a World Championship title, and two Continental Championships. The school is a regular presence at major US Chess Federation events and has produced some of the strongest young players in the country.
