Grandmaster Anish Giri has announced that he acquired *ChessMonitor.com*, a chess analytics platform that helps you analyze all your games in one place. Their extensive masters databases and opening preparation tools make them an excellent place to improve your chess. The app will serve as the foundation to host Anish Giri's next opening course. His previous courses were published on Chessable, owned by Chess.com. Giri described ChessMonitor as the police, opposed to the alleged chess mafia. Chess.com Chief Chess Officer Daniel Rensch has acknowledged the move, with congratulations. The value of the acquisition was undisclosed. Though it could be large, given that Giri just took home the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss and picked up its $90,000 USD prize. Giri stated that 'incentives are key' in these collaborations. In a previous tweet, Giri described how his teammates and he were “all struggling with prep between rounds” at Rapid & Blitz events, and that ChessMonitor was built for him in a week — now “it’s mine and y’all can’t have it.” It seems that they can have it, for a fee. A free plan is also available. Recently in Uzbekistan, Anish Giri took home first place at the 2025 Grand Swiss, scoring 8/11. He defeated EndGame.ai Owner Hans Niemann in the final round to clinch the title. Matthias Blübaum grabbed the second 2026 Candidates berth alongside Giri. This win moved Anish into the World Top 10, which later sparked a feud with Chess Twitter Provocateur, Mr Dodgy, over FIDE's new rating changes (*https://www.fide.com/fide-council-approves-targeted-amendment-to-rating-regulation/*). Anish Giri has since unfollowed Dodgy. Thus, lots of moving pieces in the chess technology and business world. We will see what happens next. For now, try out *ChessMonitor.com*
